Park Here

So downtown Plano used to be really cool, but now a bunch of offices took over the little shops and there is now a lot of apartment living that has popped up. But I guess since this cool sign was put up its all okay. I've seen a lot of cool parking signs around, but this one is unique in its variety of typeface, shape, and color. To be honest, if someone showed me color swatches for this sign before i saw the actual design i would have wanted to call them color challenged, but the colors actually work well together to direct the eye while the variety and boldness grabs your attention.

Really a wonderfully designed sign. A lot of aesthetic consideration went into the over-all shape, colors, type usage, etc. to make a very strong and unique visual. Nice job!

This sign reminds me of a hotel a guy takes a girl to on prom night...haha. It's very nostalgic and kind of kitchy, but that only adds to the appeal.

I agree with your intial comment on the bad use of color, but I think since it is a marquee sign with neon lights so they were probably limited as to what they could work with. Still, I do appreciate the design. The use of the vertical type against the directional arrow with the type inside helps in leading your eye.

This is a very good example, the overall shape has a nice fluid movement that leads you from top to bottom.

Def. works for downtown parking. I hate driving around trying to find a place to park. This would grab the lost driver's attention for sure! Not sure how well it works during the day...but at night its golden!
