Such Great Heights

Great music, great design. CD covers have some of the most unique, beautiful artwork that often trumps all other design. The band's name, The Postal Service, is outlined with a stroke, rather than filled. All thanks to a simple click on the computer that may have not been as successfully executed with a pen and paper. The chosen typeface is simple and an appropriate candidate for an outline.

it almost looks like the type has a shadow...not just a straight outline because it looks thicker in some areas...either way thank you Mr. Computer. I do like the simplicity of this CD cover and the nice clean typeface helps contribute to its overall appeal!

the outline/shadow is a much better choice than a filled in text. It gives it a lighter, more open feeling that blends well with the light from the photograph behind it. If it were filled, it would feel blocky and out of place.
