this is a T-shirt i found at the mall. at first i thought it was bush which would have made it even better but i thought it was pretty hillarious anyway. the old english like font is kindof equated with being "gangster" because of the thick strokes and the pointed edges. This is not a ladylike font. I like how this old gothic english font is paralled to this innocent all american 1950's white man.

This is pretty cool, and definately contemporary. I like the contrast between the white guy and the gothic text. It's funny how this typeface has become associated with the gangster lifestyle. I've seen it tattooed onto fat men's chests or bellies. Classy stuff.

When I see this, I can't help but think of some t-shirts my brother had that were about 1950s Greasers and Rockabilly. I also think of the trucks that have their family last name written on the back in old english. It's interesting how this typeface can be used in a trendy fashion as well as goth, and other sub-culture groups.

Interesting stuff...I feel like this should be in an Alanis Morissette song..."A little bit ironic...dont you think?" This typeface reminds me of those used on many of today's rap albums and video games...such as Snoop Dogg's album "Tha Blue Carpet Treatment" or the Grand Theft Auto video game cover. Google it...you shall see.

There is a contemporary retro (yeah oxymoron) feel here with the piece due to the image that seems to be from the 1950s and the old english font type found associated with the gangsta shananigans of the late 1980s and 1990s.
